Overview

This last couple of weeks we have been trying to have fun everyday!  Not every summer you get to spend it heaven right?  Here is the run down:
  • A lot of walks/bike rides to the lake.  I love the dock and the dike and I would love to someday know which is which :)
  • A lot of playing at the park!
  • FHE at my dad's.  Two weeks ago we talked about grandma and grandpa's past.  What they liked to do when they were little kids.  Paula grew up in Hooper and loved to ride bikes and go to this imaginary island.  My dad loved to target shoot with a bow and arrow that he made himself.  He even pulled out the very bow that he himself constructed.  The next week we had hot dogs and s'mores over the fire.  It was a blast!
  • Wednesdays we go over to my dad's to go on a bike ride.  We have had bad luck each time so far.  The first week Hyrum was on a bike that was way too big and just a bunch of little things went wrong.  This last Wed. was real exciting though.  But let me first say that my kids are FEARFUL of dogs.  And luckily here in heaven, dogs are supposed to be on a leash.  Nobody seems to care, but it is still the ordinance.  Anyway on our bike ride we were almost to the lake when we decided to watch a farmer bale his hay.  It was amazing to see all the moving parts working together and then it just spits out bale after bale of hay.  I looked behind us and there was this girl riding her bike with her HUGE chocolate lab NOT on a leash.  I politely asked her to please put her dog on a leash.  I don't know if she was embarrassed or what, but she ran into my dad.  Oops.  Anyway, the dog ran around and freaked out each of my kids so my dad asked her again to put her dog on a leash.  She got passed us and we continued to watch the baler.  And then off we went on our bike ride.  As we reached the lake our good buddy Jim rode up behind us.  He is the town cop.  He was just on a bike ride in normal clothes, but still went around threatening tickets to all the people breaking the rules.  He invited us to go around the lake with him, we declined and only got a few yards down the road when some crazy man comes flying (at least 40mph) to where were are at.  My dad hollered to him to "slow down!"  Crazy Man slams on his breaks and gets out of his car CUSSING.  I have never heard the f word so many times...  Anyway Jim steps in between my dad and Crazy Man.  Then Crazy Man starts yelling at Jim, "Was it YOU??  Were you the ***** that told my wife to get her dog on her leash????!?!?!?!"  Brad and my dad stood shoulder to shoulder with Jim when Crazy Man gets in Jim's face and just started going crazy yelling at him and cussing.  Jim tried to identify himself, but Crazy Man wasn't interested.  He then started threatening his life saying he is gonna kill him.  Then his wife and dog come up and she yells at my dad and pointed at him saying, "It was HIM!" My dad pointed back at her and said,"She was the one with the dog not on a leash." Crazy Man then said,"Do that again and I'm gonna kill you!  You NEVER point at my wife!!!!"  My dad then pointed at her again and said, "She pointed at me first!"  To say the least, things got pretty heated.  I got clear away with the kids from the get go, knowing this is not the kind of person I want my kids or even myself to be around.  After tooo long of that going on and everyone on the beach dying that this guy is speaking to Jim that way and having cell phones ready to call back up for him, Jim took Crazy Man aside alone to calm him down.  Amazingly, he did.  They walked over and Crazy Man even apologized, sincerely.  Crazy how life is. huh.
  • A walk/hike in the campground with Nana and most of her grand kids.
  • GREAT deals at the Children's Place.
  • Jared's blessing pictures taken at Kiddie Kandid's that didn't go well at all.  But they went great at JCPenny.
  • A camp out at Crystal Springs.  Amazingly it cleared up Paul's eczema.  We should go everyday...  you know, for Paul's sake :)
  • Cooking cookies with Kristi and Hyrum and sharing them with everyone!  They were tasty!
  • Walks in the cemetery to see my mom.
  • Brad and I went on a date!  We rode our bikes around the lake and then went on a short four wheeler ride to the campground to see the poppies in bloom.
  • The boys go gather chicken eggs everyday for Nana.  They check for eggs a number of times a day!  They love it!
  • They love to help feed the calf too.  This cute black bugger that has a little black bunny friend the hangs out there with him all day.  Cute huh!
  • Selling cherries on the side of the road with John and Kristy
  • Running in the evenings with Maegan.  SO fun!  We went four miles the other day!
  • Seeing old friends at the grocery store or up in the mountains!  We went and visited Becky and Vern up in the mountains where they were camping.
  • Nana got the kids butterfly nets so they have been busy catching butterflies in the garden.
  • The kids have spend a lot of time with their cousins, mostly on the BX side, but they even got to see Emma, Ali and Canyon at Grandpa's while Brad and I went on our date.
  • We are all enjoying Jared growing and talking more and watching him kick around and trying to suck his thumb.
  • We are also enjoying the beauty here.  Everyday I notice again how beautiful it is here and every night I take notice of all the stars.
I sure miss home and neighbors, but I am sure gonna miss it here in heaven...

Truth? I can't stop laughing picturing all the yelling and the "she pointed at me first"s. It sounds like a playground squabble. I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time, though. In fact I'm sure I would have been quite scared and can only laugh because I'm safely seated at my computer. Anyway, it sounds like you really are in heaven! What a great way to spend summer!
